Australian real estate figurehead Charles Tarbey, Chairman and Owner of CENTURY 21 Australasia, has officially commenced his international expansion into the Indian and UAE property markets, completing a strategic multi-city tour following his acquisition of the master franchise rights for both regions in late 2024.

India—now the world’s most populous country and largest democracy—posted record-breaking real estate sales in 2024, with over 50% of transactions surpassing INR 10 million (approximately AUD $180,000) for the first time.

Tarbey’s recent visit included stops in Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. He described the trip as instrumental in gaining insight into the evolving Indian market and reinforcing his confidence in its growth trajectory.

“India is undergoing remarkable transformation. The real estate sector is becoming more refined, with increased demand for quality and premium properties,” said Tarbey.

“There’s a real need for skilled, professional agents to help support this next phase of growth. CENTURY 21 is well positioned to lead that evolution by offering a globally respected brand and systems that work. Our top priority now is identifying the right regional partners to drive success across India.”

The expansion will see CENTURY 21 India open opportunities for sub-franchise agreements across 29 major territories—each with the capacity to support thousands of offices.

A tailored marketing and growth strategy is currently in development to ensure franchisees receive both localised and national support.

Tarbey also highlighted growing links between India and Australia, positioning CENTURY 21 to play a strategic cross-border role.

“Indian buyers are increasingly active across the Australian property market,” he said. “With around one million Australians of Indian heritage, we see a major opportunity to create a strong bridge between the two countries.

That includes promoting Australian listings across our Indian network and launching shared platforms for agents to build partnerships and collaborate globally.”

CENTURY 21 India is now accepting expressions of interest from prospective franchisees across both India and Australia. Tarbey said confidence in the Indian venture remains high.

“I’m extremely optimistic about what lies ahead for CENTURY 21 India.

This move also creates global upside for our Australasia network—offering new referral channels and deeper access to one of the world’s most dynamic property markets.”

Globally, CENTURY 21 has recently launched one of its largest-ever brand campaigns, Moments of the Century, with high-impact visibility across New York’s Times Square and major Australian media platforms, including TV, outdoor, and digital.

With nearly 130,000 independent sales professionals across 79 countries, CENTURY 21 remains one of the most recognised and far-reaching real estate networks worldwide—and the largest in the Asia-Pacific region.
